چکیده

Abstract. To increase the contribution of offshore wind energy to global mix in an economically sustainable manner, it is required reduce costs associated with production and operation turbines (OWTs). One largest uncertainties sources conservatism design lifetime prediction for OWTs determination damping level OWT. Estimation OWT based on field measurement data has hence been subject considerable research attention use (preferably operational) vibration obtained from sensors mounted structure. As such, output-only problem can be addressed using state-of-the-art operational modal analysis (OMA) techniques, reviewed this paper. The evolution classical time- frequency-domain OMA techniques reviewed; however, literature shows that are often contaminated by rotor speed harmonics significantly high located close structural modes, which impede identification. Recent advances algorithms known or unknown harmonic frequencies used improve identification such cases. Further, transmissibility family purported insensitive harmonics. Based review, a classification made according set novel suitability criteria, technique appropriate specific setup may selected. Finally, identified most attractive future path estimation lies combination uncertain non-stationary frequency measurements statistical isolation enhance orthogonal removal measured signals, robustification transmissibility-based techniques.

Dynamic Characterization of Operational Wind Turbines using Operational Modal Analysis (bn0919)

Experimental dynamic characterization of a wind turbine, operating under variety of conditions, is a desired task as it provides useful insights that can be used for number of tasks including design optimization, validation and verification of aeroelastic and finite element codes and development of an optimal control system. However, current state of art experimental techniques are insufficient...

Damping Estimation using Operational Modal Analysis

It has been observed that even though modal frequencies are well estimated using Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) techniques, damping estimation is not as accurate. The opinions on this aspect of OMA have been widely varying and no consensus or definite answers are available. In this paper the OMA procedure, data processing and modal parameter estimation, is studied with respect to proper dampi...

Design and Analysis of Jacket Substructures for Offshore Wind Turbines

This study focused on investigating various existing types of offshore jacket substructures along with a proposed twisted-tripod jacket type (modified jacket (MJ)-structures). The architectures of the three-leg structure, as well as the patented twisted jacket structure motivated the design of the proposed MJ-structures. The dimensions of the structures were designed iteratively using static st...

Optimization of monopiles for offshore wind turbines.

The offshore wind industry currently relies on subsidy schemes to be competitive with fossil-fuel-based energy sources. For the wind industry to survive, it is vital that costs are significantly reduced for future projects. This can be partly achieved by introducing new technologies and partly through optimization of existing technologies and design methods. One of the areas where costs can be ...

Mass Properties Identification of a Rigid Body Using Modal Analysis

In performing vibration analysis of the car engine on the engine support, it is necessary to know the mass properties of the engine including mass, position of the center of mass and mass inertia moments. Because the car engine has a relatively complex geometric shape and is composed of different components with different densities, determining its mass properties faces many challenges. There a...
